I began by bonding photographs to alternative surfaces in 1999, using a black-and-white light-sensitive liquid photo emulsion that could be painted onto surfaces and exposed using traditional darkroom processes. As the scale of the pieces increased it meant building darkrooms outside and using chemicals to develop the image, however the images did not last. I gained some commissions and residencies and this gallery shows a selection of the work. I have included in this gallery three early photo transfer pieces on oak rounds that appear as liquid photo emulsion images. However, they lost their painterly effect.
