Close to Home began as a landscape series during lockdown.  The photographs do not depict specific identifiable places but offer a very intimate view of places very close to my home in rural mid-Suffolk, many just a stone's throw from my back gate and some a little further afield. I have an intuitive interest in personifying nature and transposing my thoughts and emotions onto each subject, particularly trees and the tiny unadmired plant life by marrying light and the environment to express my feelings of joy and sometimes sorrow.
